Methods:

Standard MidasPlus commands were used to orient the structure to the desired viewing angle, to color code the atoms according to the color scheme viewed above. The original PDB coordinate file is available as 3hhr.pdb. The specific MidasPlus commands used were:

• Conic Images
• command: open 3hhr
• command: show #0:32c-236c (Please not the model # is determined by the total number of molecules being viewed. Since there is only one molecule(hGH), the command uses #0.
• command: color green #0:32c-236c
• command: conic
• command: show #0:32b-234b
• command: color green #0:32b-234b
• command: conic
• command: show #0:1a-190a
• command: color red #0:1a-190a
• command: conic
• Ribbon Images
• command: ribbonjr -f inventor -c structure -a
